Today I begin 18 days in Korea, Japan, and China.  It’s an exploratory pilgrimage to get the pulse of pain and hope regarding challenges of peace and reconciliation within and between these countries and Christianity’s place in all this, and discern how this speaks to the Duke Center for Reconciliation’s work regarding Northeast Asia.  The largest number of Duke Divinity School international alumni are from South Korea.  Duke University has made China a major focus.  This follows up my November visit to North Korea.

“Making Peace With the Land” by Norman Wirzba and Fred Bahnsen (foreword by Bill McKibben) was just released, the 7th and final book in the Center’s series with InterVarsity Press.

Reconciliation is the theme of Duke Divinity magazine — a beautiful 48-page edition with contributions by many faculty and alumni and lead article by Emmanuel and me.  The ministry of the Center is a major focus.  Read or download the issue here.
