Recently I interviewed theologian Stanley Hauerwas, a mentor from my Duke Divinity School days. See excerpts from our conversation about the pandemic, the church, and the United Nations in the March issue of “Global Briefing” released by our MCC UN Office. Also in this issue:

  • a provocative piece “Beyond the Vaccine,” by Sri Lankan Christian thinker Vinoth Ramachandra
  • an interview with Asbury University scholar David Swartz on his new book “Facing West”
  • recommended reading on the global problem of “information disorder” with lessons from the U.S. Capitol riot, Rwanda and South Korea
  • a prayer remembering the courageous public witness of Bishop Oscar Romero of El Salvador.
  • also, for the first time we offer translations of major articles into French and Spanish.

Published every two months, Global Briefing is written for a global audience of readers, a resource at the intersection of critical global challenges and the global church. If you like it, please subscribe, and tell others about it.
