This week, we’re pointing to an op-ed in The Other Journal by Kara Slade, an M.Div. student at Duke. Titled ‘No Isolated Incidents,’ Slade asks whether or not the Christian tradition can speak to both judgment and grace truthfully and acknowledge its own story of faithlessness and timidity.

“Although the latest news from our nation’s wars may be eclipsed in the media by the recent elections or by the next celebrity scandal, the work of memory should not be relegated to those veterans who are unable to forget what they have seen and done.”
